Many people are suffering from chronic plantar fasciitis and tendonitis, Are YOU?

If you are one of the millions of people who suffer from chronic foot pain, RSWT can help!

RSWT for treatment of Foot Pain
EnPuls Plus RSWT

What is RSWT?

The enPulsPro device by Zimmer used here at Warrington Family Foot Care is a Cutting Edge, Non-invasive, Non-pharmacological, Highly Effective Solution for the treatment of Chronic Foot, Heel, and Ankle Pain.

Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is an FDA-cleared technology proven to increase the rate of healing for soft tissue and tendon problems. It is an advanced, non-invasive, and highly effective treatment method that enhances blood circulation and accelerates the healing process causing damaged tissue to gradually regenerate.

How does it work?

RSWT delivers energy into targeted tissue that traditional therapy cannot reach.

When you experience chronic pain, your body no longer recognizes that there is an injury to that area. As a result, this constant pain shuts down the healing process and you feel no relief. The sound waves of the enPuls Pro penetrate deep through your soft tissue, causing microtrauma and a new inflammatory condition to the treated area, ultimately triggering your body's natural healing response once again. The energy emitted also causes the cells in the soft tissue to release biochemicals that intensify the body's natural healing process. These bio-chemicals allow for the building of an array of new microscopic blood vessels in the soft tissue. RSWT expands blood vessels, stimulates the formation of new blood vessels, and thus promotes circulation. An important precondition for supplying the tissue with nutrients and detoxifying it and for rapid healing of diseased, injured, or inflamed tissue.

The mechanical stress created by RSWT triggers reactions in the tissue that have a positive influence on a wide range of conditions such as:

  • Insertion tendinopathy/Tendonitis

  • Chronic inflammation in the ball of the foot (Neuroma, capsulitis)

  • Other uses: Wound care treatment of chronic, stalled wounds

The system is a machine with an applicator that looks like an ultrasound.

It is administered once a week for a series of 5-7 treatments. Each treatment takes

approximately 5 minutes depending on the size and number of areas treated. There are no needles involved with this treatment.

Why should I consider RSWT?

Numerous studies prove that shockwave, or radial pressure wave therapy, effectively eliminates chronic pain without surgery.

In clinical studies, about 91% of patients reported successful results, including a decrease in chronic pain, an increase in mobility, and other health improvements

Studies show:

  • long-term pain relief (often even during or immediately after the treatment)

  • a noticeably positive effect on inflammatory reactions in musculoskeletal discomfort/conditions

  • very good effects on bone healing, especially in the treatment of nonhealing fractures and pseudoarthroses

  • the elimination of calcification in tendons, for example, in the case of shoulder calcification

What should I expect during or after treatment?

Most patients report some discomfort during shockwave therapy, but most do not find it painful.

There have been extensive studies done on Radial Shockwave Therapy over the past 20 years. These studies show between a 72% – 80% success rate.RSWT has a proven success rate that is equal to or greater than that of traditional treatment methods, including surgery, without risks, complications, and lengthy recovery periods. There are no incisions and no risk of infection, or scar tissue, like with surgery.

There is no need for anesthesia to be administered during the treatment, as opposed to high-energy shockwave therapy. Patients treated with RSWT may be active immediately and resume their normal routine the same day. Many patients find a significant and immediate reduction in their pain. Most patients will feel results gradually after each treatment.

There have been very few side effects reported. Some Patients may feel soreness in the area for a day or two afterward, like a bruise, but that is normal and is a sign the treatment is working.

Does my Insurance cover RSWT?

No. RSWT is not covered by insurance plans, but ask your doctor how they can make it affordable for you.
